Question on Shift ***
I'm reupholstering my interior and was trying to pull off the *** on the 6 speed shifter. I have not been successful. Is there a secret to taking of the *** on the shifter? I have a 1998 coup............BJ98

Why yes there is a secret! You must remove the demon key!
Check out the Vettessentials website on the left hand list of vendors for instruction on shift **** install/ removal... I'm sure Ken wouldn't mind!

THANKS! I just printed the instrustions and am on my way to complete the job. I'm glad I didn't listen to my son who suggested I trist the **** until it broke loose......bj98

Can you say "Demon Key." I was pulling my hair our until somone pointed me in the direction of Vette Essential's install instructions. Print those off and say three times: "Demon Be Gone"

Hello everyone. I tried this all of the ways mentioned above before looking at it more carefully and seeing that there is a gap uner the pin on both of the front corners.
It took less than 30 seconds with a flat head screwdriver and a cloth. I got the blade of the screwdriver under the demon key on one corner and was able to pry the key right out. Anyone else do this? I could post pics if people are interested.
