I have an 04 6speed vert, from what I can tell, if I put 4:10's in I will have ZO6 acceleration, is that true? Any negative effects, like tire spinning? I only use my car on street, would like to go light to light with any car.

When I was roadracing motorcycles, we would gear up or down for the track based on top speed, a particular set of corners that have an effect on lap times, etc. I also had a Ducati 996 for the street that was terribly overgeared for the street. I ended at max gearing 1-down in the front and 6-up in the back. I lost about 5 mph on the top end, but rarely ever drove that fast on the street. Typically we do roll-ons from 60-120 or 80 to 140. I have only been on the track once with a car and do not have a good understanding of proper setup. However on the street it is all about racing to your advantage. If I had awd, I would want to race 0-60, if I could not hook up well in 1-2nd, then I would run mid range accelleration, etc. 4:10's may not be good on the track, but I have to believe they are like adding 100rwhp to a stock Z compared to the 3.42's - they are not hooking up in first or second either with street rubber.

I don't know about 100rwhp but 50 rwhp sotp i can vouch for (even though we all know rwhp is not actually increased but in reality is decreased a tad) but you could never tell by the seat in the pants feel of the lower gearing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
