Roof off?

There is a need for caution while driving at high speeds, however. I once read a thread, when I first joined the Forum Family, about a guy who had a horrible experience with the effects of turbulence. He was following another Forum member on a fun drive and his car cover, which was rolled up in the back, came unravelled, crept to the cockpit, and wrapped around his head, causing him to flip the car.
The day after I read that thread, I had a similar experience, except I saw the cover coming up from the back. I caught it under my arm, rolled the windows up, and pulled off the road to better stow my cover.
I ordered my hatch vent latches from Eckler's, put 'em in, and the difference in wind noise and internal turbulence was amazing. I could have a conversation and even leave books in the back without fear of them taking flight. Of course, at excessive speeds, you still need to be careful, but overall, it's the best money I've spent on the car.
The thing you have to adjust to is the blind spot from the deck position, and the fact that it looks to people who don't know better constantly telling you that your hatch is up. But the benefits far outweigh the problems.
I don't sell 'em, but I definitely recommend 'em! So get topless, be safe, and enjoy!

My roof spent more time off the car then on during the months of June, July, Aug, Sept.
Absolutely. I often go weeks with it off. Of course, when I park it around town, it goes on for security...but otherwise off it goes when I get ready to drive again... A. Any parking permit you forgot and left hanging from the rear-view mirror will be sucked out of the car at about 110;
B. Any hat you're wearing should be stapled to your head;
C. Looking at yourself in the mirror with your hair standing straight up like Don King's can be more scary than driving around at triple digits.
D. My ears start to flap at 115.
Other than that, it's a hoot.
