Default Roof off?

Does anyone actually ride around, like say on the freeway, with the roof off their C5 coupe? My coupe looks really good with the roof off, but I can't really imagine how it would do at 70 mph with it off.

I love riding around with my targa off. One night last summer i got her up to 130 mph on a stretch of barren highway with the top off. Needless to say my head was pinned to my headrest.

I take the roof off even if i'm just going up the road to go to a friends or to go grocery shopping. My roof stays off until it starts to rain or gets below 55degrees.

i ride with mine off all the time. im sure thats one reason many of us prefer the coupe compared to the FRC's and Z06's.

sure, it gets pretty windy on the highway, and sometimes hard to have a conversation, but thats when you just turn up the radio and enjoy the ride!!

Edit: chris how did i know you were going to beat me to this thread!!!

Is there a lot of turbulance at highway speeds? I imagine you got to remove anything light that might get blown around?

You definately don't want to have a bunch of paperwork sitting in the passenger seat or any thing like that, but like everyone has already said, it's not that bad. Just don't plan on holding on a conversation at speed or any thing. I used to cruise around town with the top off my coupe all the time, but left it on when I hit the highway. Just got annoying after a while. On the other hand, I found myself adjusting my routes so I didn't have to take the freeway

There is more turbulance in my coupe with the roof off than there was in my convertible RX-7. If you want to open your consol or glove compartment, forget about it. With the windows up the ride is slightly less windy, but there's an almost unbarable vacuum sound. According to Dave Hill they've done a lot to fix that in the C-6 but that doesn't help us now....But as Brian said, you're driving crank up the music and enjoy it.

I'm gonna have to try it! Hard to imagine, I've had the car over a year, and never rode around with the top off! Course it rarely hits 70 degrees around here either. Thanks for answering my thread. I posted a thread about Agostino heads, and Precision Porting and Coatings, (asking if anyone had experience with them), and it was like I farted or something. I feel accepted again. "I'm smart enough, and I'm good enough, and doggonit, people like me!"

Hard to imagine you've never had the top off while driving. Your'e missing out on a lot of fun...

If it's cool out, just turn the heater up and let it blow through the dash and floor vents and you'll be fine. If it's really cold, just put the windows up.

There's nothing like open air driving.

You have GOT to go topless!!! Hell.... new year's day broke 50's here and I took the top off to go cruisin! Just put a warm sweatshirt on, turn the heat up, and take it off!!!

Don't expect to hold a convo OR open your console @ highway speeds tho...

I had one for about 2 hours. A pain to put on, and take off and store. Didn't work as well as the ventmasters.
