Simple fix. Buy the Coupe and built it like you like it.
Biggest help to making it smooth was taking that molding off the sides.
Don't see why Chevy added that to start with but I like all three.
When quick zo6 finishes up that rear spoiler that molded in will for sure change the way the car looks. C5's are a long way from being out dated..

I prefer the zo6 and that is why I bought one, only fastback for me is the c2 (63-67) and others in my opinion are pretenders and don't look right, my opinion and to each their own and buy what YOU like....who cares what others think.

I wanted the coupe body style and they didn't offer it in the c6 so I had to buy the C5
Z06. Didn't need the extra performance of the Z06, but since it was included in the price, I'll take it. If I need to haul stuff, I'll drive the truck. lol

I like coupes,hardtops, and verts. I like all c5 Vettes! I prefer the auto trans because of back problems [legs are messed up] mainly but also because I got tired of shifting gears. I like the coupe because of the room in the back area and the removable top.
I like the c5 because it is the best looking Vette ever built! The only thing I like about the c6 is the engine because of the H.P..

With the upgrades I have made to my coupe I can hang with a Z but as great as the Z is, you can't work on your tan while driving one!

So far, No one has mistaken my car for a 95 Cougar. My 64 Barracuda has a rear widow like a C5 coupe wonder if I could pass it off as a Corvette

Why is it that GM chose the C5R to be a coupe but the Z06 in the stubby FRC body? Who's smarter in the design groups? It's always bugged me that the sweet coupe line could only be had in Caddy like ride. I'll never own a Z06 just because of the looks and that a shame to miss out on that kind of performance, but I've started the transformation with upgraded suspension parts and boost. I've read that there is little in common between the C6 and C6-Z06. Even the frame is aluminum. But they wised up and used the coupe as the starting point.
