Just think about how glad the older drivers were when the starter button was moved off the floor onto the dash, then cam the start when turning the key; how inovative.
And now you want to end the convience and put the button back on the dash, how quaint. In 5 more years we will be patitioning the makers to put it back on the floor. Gad; how backwards.
Hey, that floor starter button was fun on my brother's 1953 Merc. Pull out the choke, turn the dash key, and tromp on the button!
This is EXACTLY how the thread went about 2 weeks ago when someone else asked the identical question. Does anyone really have an answer on this one? EG?

Inferno is in hibernation with all this annoying white stuff on the ground - I'll get a pic tonight and post it.
I do have a pic of the box when I bought it (yes, I'm sad ) and I'll post that too. Mine is just red - no Engine Start lettering. I was going to get the lighted one, but decided that it would be OTT even for me .

I think the push button start on the C6 is a novelty.
You have to have the FOB with you all the time and there is no key what so ever.
Wait until the bat in the FOB wears out and the owner is somewheres where they can't get a new one.
May sound strange, but I like the security of a key.
Yes, I have an engine start button in place of my cigarette lighter. It's an aftermarket part that I bought for ~$50. It's a Honda S2000 engine start button clone (yes, more Rice )
You didn't REALLY do that, did you Stephen? Tell me you didn't put a Honda starter on your corvette.
I was working with a guy to do a scanning of my thumb to start my car. Its Biotechnology and you want to talk about trick..... Its really high tech. But I dropped it cause of the cost that my new motor and old one.
