Default Memory Option

Does anyone have problems with the memory option? Almost everytime I get in the car, I have to reset the seats. Is there a trick I'm missing?

I haven't had any issues, other than my memory is a little rusty and i may forget about the clutch after driving an auto all winter...

Other than it not putting the seat in the right position when turning it on or off intermittently, mine works fine.

Try resetting the memory like described in the manual. If that doesn't work, it may be a problem with the module.

If you unlock the doors with the fob, you must hit the user number (1 or 2) when you get into the car. Then it will return to the set position you have in memory. I think it may be related to the easy entry setting where the seat goes all the way back. Check the manual because there is more than one way to set the seats.

Not on my car.... Unlocking with the FOB activates the memory.

Correct, but the FOBs are marked 1 or 2 (look on the back) , and they rememeber what were the last settings for that FOB (1or2)

I get the same problem i think it happens when you change your seat position because you have to reprogram the darn thing all over again so the memory does not keep the memory it is suppose to .

If you lock your car upon exit, then when you unlock with the fob, get in, insert the key, my seats then go to the pre-programmed spot.

If I did not lock the car, when I get back in, it does not go back to the settings without hitting the "1" button.

Locking the car seems to reset the system, making it ready to respond to the fob and the actual key insertion.

Seems like I have to "insert" to "get a response."

I believe that it is the "unlocking" of the car with the FOB 1 or 2 that tells the memory to return to the settings of either 1 or 2.

Even if my wife (FOB 2) does not lock the car and I come up to it and hit the unlock button on my FOB (FOB 1) all settings go to my settings (or memory setting for #1).

I've not had a single problem with the memory in my '04 Coupe. When you make your desired seat changes and such, are you holding down on the correct memory button (that matches your FOB number) for a few seconds until the light stops blinking? DOing this is what puts the setting into memory.

I have trouble with mine but I have not taken the time to really figure it out. I would rather not have the option since I am the only who ever drives her.
