(The C5 boot we currently have will work but might need adjustment since the C6 Z06 is a shorter throw.)

this came just in time, I was just thinking about doing this mod. I posted a thread looking for some feedback from people with it but I didn't get much info back. I'm looking for something which is easy to shift, smooth, and a big shorter than the stock C5 shifter. I don't want really short, but a bit shorter would be good. I've heard that this one is right in between the stock shifter and most aftermarkets in height, which I think is exactly what I'm looking for. if it shifts smoothly and bolts right up I think I want in on this!
question though, can I get it without the shift ****? I like the stock C5 **** and want to keep it. I personally think the C6Z **** looks out of place in a C5. what is the bolt for? if I keep the stock C5 **** do I still need a different boot? if so can someone post a link to what I need! I know nothing about changing the shifter though, I just know that I want a shifter which is alittle shorter and shifts smoother. very detailed instructions would be a must for me, although I don't think it sounds like its too hard to do the swap.
