04' Z06 stock vs Diablosport Canned tune MUSTANG DYNO
Both runs were done today. Corrected numbers are on the left, uncorrected on the right.
Stock w/Vararam Intake 30,000 MI:
349 RWHP----350.5 UNCORRECTED
338 RWTQ----340.3 UNCORRECTED
Canned Diablosport tune untouched w/Vararam Intake 30,000 MI:
355 RWHP----358.1 UNCORRECTED
349.5 RWTQ----352.5 UNCORRECTED
I'd say she's running pretty healthy. I was only expecting 330 ish on a Mustang dyno....stock.
Sorry Lew, for some reason your custom tune got deleted, so I had to use the canned tune. I'll have to dyno your custom tune later.

Like you believed the ad? I got 8 HP corrected, and only 5 TQ, on a Dynojet, with a Diablo canned tune. That was a long time ago, and the only thing I use the thing for is code reading/resetting. Much easier than using the DIC.

I'm happy with my canned Pred tune.I also tuned out CAGS,COT,got my LTFT's in line and adjusted the fans to my needs here in the South.
It did what I wanted and I got the expected results.

What do you get from a $400 CAI?
$1000 cat back?
The LS6 applications were tuned pretty well from GM, there is not much left on the table. Keep in mind too, there is more to the tune than the numbers, the car should feel much better now too.

I got a Predator for a Christmas gift, and made a couple of tweeks to the standard tune. I decreased the transmission shift time, increased the valve body pressure a little, and removed the torque management. I'll continue to "experiment" a little more with different parameters on my 2002 A4 coupe, but so far, for the price and ease of use, I'm satisfied with the seat of the pants results!

the ls6 is very well tuned from the factory... that is a very respectable gain for a canned tune.... the only way to get more power would be to have a custom tuned tailored to your car.... even then the gains might only be minor

Dyno'ed it yesterday on the same dyno and I'm confused.
2 years ago, stock it did 350/340 uncorrected.
Yesterday it did 323/321...
Now, I know they were done on completely different days and temp, weather, etc. play a factor, but for it to lose this much power is mind boggling. No mechanical changes whatsoever, and I've only put 9000 easy miles since the last tune. I even flashed back to the tune that made 358/349 and it only busted 327/325. No registered knock, temps were pretty cool....
9000 miles and a different day = roughly 25 HP loss? The dyno operator was even confused. I asked when was the last time he calibrated the thing and he said he couldn't remember.
Now check this, we take my car off and put a supercharged/cammed/tuned stang on the dyno and it could barely spin the drums....
I then asked the dyno operator could the eddy brake on the dyno be damaged? Therefore, the reason for the lower numbers? He said "ummm...maybe".
Thoughts?

My bet, the gas you are using makes a big difference. The pump gas available now is poor quality at best. Esecially if it's an ethanol blend. By the way I use the diablo tuner, after I did headers, gears, ss3600, cai intake, etc. they retuned for free and it runs. 0-60 mph 4.0x, 8.0x, 1/8th mile. DA 5500 plus, 2001 coupe. I am now getting ready to test a forum legends tune and will let you know how they compare. Don't sell Mike at diablo short, talked with him at sema very knowledgeable, and I think they have a pretty good product. Ron B.

best way to make sure all s well would be to take it to the track, assuming you have a trap sp[eed from before when it was last dyno'd. Trap speed should stay the same, if it fell off, you'd have to go looking for the missing power, but I'm more convinced it was just a case of the dyno reading differently.
To be honest, I would never expect a vehicle that we dyno'd here a year ago to come in today and make the same numbers, too many variables

Well, I just spoke with the dyno operator and he said a transformer/drum was failing at the time I was on the dyno and completely failed when he put the stang on. The proper signal wasn't being sent. The piece that broke costs about 400.00.
I know it wouldn't have put out exact numbers on different days. Loosing 25+ hp just didn't make sense. Plus or minus 5-8 is more reasonable.
