Default Time To Mod - Need Tech Advice

We bought a 2004 A4 Coupe this past August and it's time to do some mods. Having been down the extreme mod path with my previous car, we've decided to keep this one fairly basic. I'm saying "we've" because unlike my previous HP ride (different brand, hence these questions), this one is my wife's and mine!!

Having monitored the forum for a while and having done some other research, the plan is Corsa Indy Tigersharks with an X-pipe. That brings up the first question, is there really any need to go to high-flow cats since I have no plan to upgrade the engine with H/C or headers?

On the intake side, the plan is to change to a Z06 box. I was originally planning a K & N, but I've been hearing some chatter about GM issuing a SB regarding the use of oiled filters, something to the effect of voiding engine warranty. Can anyone confirm the SB, and, given the plan to stay close to stock, will I see any significate difference between the two?

One last question, I understand the stock air bridge offers a lot of restriction. Is there an aftermarket version that works with the stock MAF that will free it up a bit?

Thanks in advance.

In my opinion you should stay with your stock cats. I think the ZO6 air box is a good idea and the air bridge would be a waste of money. You won't see much if any gains from the air bridge until you do some serious mods.

Don't think you will get much from the air bridge, I didn't. On the filter front, I think GM will only disallow the warranty on the MAF if you have an oiled filter. Aftermarket cats will flow better due to the elimination of the front pup cats. A good set of headers will likely pick you up about 30 Hp at the wheels.

I wouldn't bother with hi-flow cats on a stockish car. Do an intake and maybe a catback and call it good (at least until your ready to go FI or big cubes).
