Default Electric Cutouts installed

The electric cutouts that I bought turned out to be 3" instead of 2.5". 2.5" is the diameter of the intermediate exhaust. So the welder custom fabricated the 2.5" to 3" adapter and because of the adapter and then the dumps are 3", he had to stagger the dumps.

All work is Mig welded and looks good.

The cutouts were hitting on part of the fabricated exhaust, but I was able to adjust and now it works great. It is loud with the cutouts open. Not as loud as the car was with no mufflers. But loud enough.

And the switch is great when on the highway, I just close till the drone is gone. When I want it really quiet, I just close them completely.

One the best mods so far.

If anyone is in Austin, Texas and needs this type of work done, I can give you the guys number. He also sells the QTP cutouts and could install those if someone wanted.

Cutout used cost about $175 and the installation, fab work, and parts cost $200. Fab work/Installation took about 4 hours.

Installation is on an M6 tranny.

I did a quick CAD drawing of what I wanted, took it to a local exhaust shop and had them fab and weld in the actual cutouts to my x-pipe. The rest I did myself at home.

These are welded to the stock intermediate pipe and there is no x pipe.

Those look nice. I was hoping mine would come out like that, but the 3" cutouts and adapters took extra space.

Where did y'all run the swtiches? I'm assuming these are on/off, not variable. And, did you notice any performance improvement?

Thanks, and have a good one,
Mike
