Default Vararam Measurement?

Looking for the inside dimensions of where the air filter installs into the Vararam upper lid. I want to research some other filter options. Anyone got the dimensions or can measure them easily?

TIA

I'd be very interested in what you find in filter options. Please let us know. Thanks.

The K&N Filter that fits the Vararam is part number 33-2522. This is made for a Triumph TR-7. I would really be interested in any other options out there. Please post if you find any. Thanks...

Does the K&M fit perfectly with the outer dimensions listed? There is an AC Delco equivalent but not sure if there is a direct comparison on size and fitment.

Mine "fit" initially but I eventually trimmed it a bit to get it to seat better. I currently run VaraRam's Baja filter.

So it sounds like the dimensions are a little too big? I have a Baldwin size chart, do you think you could get by with one that is thicker?

Not much thicker. The air box seal on the VaraRam is already taxed to the max with the 33-2522.

I just happen to have my VR2B new in the box sitting beside the desk here. If you need actual measurements, let me know.

5 1/2" X 16 1/2" . The factory foam filter measures 17" long but compresses some whan installing. I'd stick closer to the 16 1/2" if looking for another type of filter that is more rigid than the foam. I did notice on the foam filter that comes with the VR2b that it just looks like the center foam element is just hot glued in. Maybe cut it out and install the center of a k&n the same way?
