Iv called WCC AND LAPD about this and they both say if you use the new 2001 to 2004 Z06 parts it should work fine. You Think they would know! Are you sure about this???

what do u mean?? does the 2001 -04 have no restrictions? i think that gm would keep restrictions in the lines in all years.
DANG! I wish I knew about this 3 months ago when I was doing my major driveline surgeory! I only drilled out the ones I could get to..... ugh. But so far my car has been OK in terms of the lazy clutch pedal at high rpms. My slave did die and my clutch sunk to the floor though....

Are you saying the Z06 does not have the restrictions?
Im getting ready to do a clutch on my car and s you know its a pain to do. I only want to remove the hole rear end torque tube and tranny once so I wanted as much info about this so I called around and they all say if you use the zo6 parts there is no drill mod. Lapd says everything they install clutches in gets the z06 parts. And no drill mod is performed.?????

The 2001-2004 is a new design. Differant part numbers too.WCC And LAPD and MTI have told me to just use the new z06 parts. And there should be no problem????
Oh man! Ok.. you would think these people would know what they are talking about. I guess ill be taking mine apart tonight to check it out they are brand new sitting in box. Ill post what I find with exact part numbers.
nice guys o love how everyone is helping on this thread.... i called mcleod today but their tech dept is closed till mon. i want to see if the line they make can work with a stock master cylinder and if it has any restrictions.
I posted a How To post here about 3 yrs ago illustrating how to modify all restrictions, including the hard 90 degree elbow. I cant seem to pull up any of my posts from that far back, but if you email me and I will send you those pics.

Do you still have the old link to your post? If you do, it can be modified to work with the new software. Post the old link, and I'll fix it.
I have my stock '01 master w/ a new oem slave and a LUK stage-II. The best mod I ever made w/ my clutch was remove the return spring under the pedal. It's never come close to sticking since (not sure if the problems are related). I've never had high rpm hard shifting problems... never drilled anything out either.

Removing that spring will help. It's not a return spring though.
It is an assist spring, It helps pull the pedal toward the floor
I removed mine.
I have an '02 Z06 Slave in mine and it had the restriction. The lines are '00 so they had them also.
I drilled everything I could get to easily, and I have no problems. I'm not running the stock clutch though.
There are actually 4 altogether (I said 3 in an earlier post).
I sent out an informative email w/pic tutorial to all those of you requesting such info. Should answer all questions raised here in this post. If someone could inform me how to post pics in a thread here I could do that, too.
