Default DTE Differential strut... when do I need it?

Is this something only needed for high HP/sticky tire drag racers? I've allready been through on rear (GM covered it under warranty) b/c it started to howl after some hard driving. I don't go to the strip often, but I'd like to be able to do it w/ confidence my car won't break. I mostly run HPDE's and auto-x.... I'm thinking the strut brace is useless in these situations...

Ever experienced any wheel hop? You need it... i'm 374rwhp, and broke mine when i experienced a little wheel hop on street tires! Any vette I own from here on out will imediatly get a DTE brace, it's a 400 dollar insurance against a 2200 dollar mistake!
