What will short headers do for me

What will short headers do for me
I have a stock 01 C5. Only mod is Corsa exhaust. Not interested in changing stock cats so long tubes are out. I was thinking of getting short tubes. Two questions:
1) Without any other mods (intake, cats), I assume I'll gain maybe 10 HP at best. Right?
2) Will this change the exhaust tone/sound?

Your stock manifolds are about 99% as good as shortie headers. If you are not going to do long tubes into you factory catalysts, save you money

For 10rwhp (which I doubt you will even get) just save your money. Get an intake and if you want a louder sound there are plenty of aftermarket exhausts that can get the job done. If you are unsure about emissions testing in jersey make sure LT headers are truly illegal before you make a decision.
