Default Column lock Recall, Please Explain

Hello all, I have searched and read but still cannot get a grasp on this thing.
I have an 03 Vert MN6. I havent had any problems yet.
I have gotten a few recall notices and am trying to decide what to do.

1. What exactly is the difference between the recall for an auto and a six speed?
2. Should I skip the recall and just put in the CLB or do the recall and the CLB?
3. I hate bringing the car to any dealer like most of you but if best, I will.

By no means am I an expert on this car. But, I'll tell you that I've already experienced the lock-up and I was a long ways from a Chevy dealer and had to be towed for the repair.

Do not take the car to the dealer for the recall. It is a waste of your valuable time, not to mention the possibility of damaging the car while in their "care".

Buy a CLB (aftermarket CL simulator), or if it makes you more comfortable, buy the GM version for 90 dollars. It's called a "Harness K", and it's what the dealerships install on A4's (lucky them). If you use the Harness K, just don't hook up the CL side of the wiring.

There are tons of posts on this subject.. Even our modest search engine can find them.

If you are still unsure, feel free to PM me w/ your phone number, and I'll walk you through it in plain English.
