Ok i need help adjusting my glove box because its not closing all the way and the light stays on witch is making my battery die. I looked tonight and the bolts i see didnt look like they did any adjustments only held the lock deal in place. Any help would be great guys
OK, I'm here at work, and my manuals and Corvette are at home, so I'm going to try it from memory......
There are two screws in the latch striker (not the door latch) that will facilitate adjustment. One is a locking screw, and the other is a torx screw in line with the striker, which will move it in or out. The locking screw faces down, while the adjustment screw faces out toward you.
Loosen the locking screw, turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise (I think) to move the latch inward until you have a satisfactory fit and closure, then tighten the locking screw.
Actually, a pretty slick adjustment, and the most elaborate glovebox door adjustment I have ever seen.
Not to ignore you, but I'll have to research size when I get home this morning. It may be a T15; let me make sure. Torx drivers and 1/4" drive bits are readily available at Sears, and should be available at good hardware stores, as well.
It's a T 25 torx bit on both screws. You will need an angle wrench or a 1/4 drive ratchet to loosen the locking screw. You will need a T 25 driver or an extension on that 1/4 drive to move the latch in or out.
The Wolfman apologizes for the delay in responding to you. The Wolfman got home from work yesterday morning and had to celebrate 24 years with the same employer; celebrate I did! Just got back from getting a check up from the neck up (for 24 years), and am having an appearance mod day with the 'Vette.
Hope this helps; let me know if you have any further questions.
