Do you mean the velocity stacks that sat on top of a carb (or several like Webers) like in a hot rod? They did work but not for a fuelie...

Oh the thing that claims to straighten your air flow..... No it does not - and actually the C5 has a square mesh screen at the MAF that is supposed to do that exact thing. Save your 19 bucks....

I don't think there are any dyno numbers to prove it. However I put one in when I did my Vararam, just for the he** of it!

I don't think it's designed to straighten air flow, but rather to increase air velocity through the throttle body somewhat. Not sure on the actual performance of the piece though. HTH

Seems to me that it helps keep the air flow "smooth" inside of the TB.
But I've been told it's "snake oil". We need a dyno test to nail this one down.

HMMM, lets see last time I looked to increase velocity you had to add a restriction.
So if we just take a flat metal plate and drill a small, say .060 dia hole and cover the throttle body with it it should go really fast
You will get a lot more gain/not loss from adding a low restriction air filter and ZO6 screens.

There is a small increase in power. I have had one on my car for some time now, and the last time I was on the dyno, we ran it several times with it, to get the tuning correct, then ripped it out and ran it once to see what kind of difference it made. We found that it lost 2 ft-lbs across the entire rpm band with it out. Although it is not a significant power boost, not even enough to register on the assometer, there is a small gain.
