When I picked up my new-to-me C5, while driving home it said "low front tire pressure". At that time, I had no idea how to use the DIC, so I ignored it.
Now I do, & when accessing the DIC, all 4 tires DO NOT show a pressure, only an empty space. Could my sensors have gone bad? If so, why did I get the first message that day?
I know you have to make it over like 15 mph before it begins to read the sensors. I've had my left rear sensor replaced but I still get the tire pressure system failure display unless I travel over like 60 mph for a while. Do they ever display anything anymore, or just when you start up the car???
If your not driving there will be no read out. There is a sort of hibernation mode to save the battery life. Once you start driving they will show actual tire pressure. If not, it will indicate that the senor is not working. Hope this helps.
Do you have aftermarket rims? Maybe the previous owner removed the sensors? Alot of folks remove them because it's too much trouble with some aftermarket rims. Once the sensor is removed it throws a error msg every time you start the car. Just a guess. I don't have pics but the original sensors look stocky / stubby compared to a regular valve stems and they have a nut holding them in. Hope that helps.

This should not happen. Both of you have a computer system problem because one of you replaced a sensor and it isn't functioning as it should and the other, had all four sensors show no pressure (this is very rare for all of them to go bad at once).
The first thing to do is see if you have any codes that indicate that your TPS and RFA system are having faults. If there are codes, please post them. If there are not any, it may be a good idea to try to re-train your tire pressure sensors. The procedure should be in your owners manual.
If it isnt, I can provide it to you.
If you are driving and above 10-15 MPH, you should see a pressure reading. There is a ground for the RFA that gets corroded and caused FOB and TPS issues.
I did have several, but it turns out the bad battery was at fault. Since new battery (& only a short drive home), no codes have shown up. Also, the codes I did have weren't pressure sensor codes (I don't think they were, will look into this)
I guess my best bet is to drive it out & see what the DIC says.
If not, expect to hear from me again
Denis
