The temp hovers around 178.
Is the computer changing something?

Any ideas
Did you reset the computer so it would relearn after the t-stat install?

Not saying it would change anything, but it might. The correlation between IAT values and the engine temps will be different now and may confuse the computer for a while until it inevitably adjusts. Might be faster to reset like is advised after putting an aftermarket cool air intake on the car.

Just a thought.

This forum is yet another great outlet for me, because I have alot of free time with my flying schedule. The vette, the stang and the SS are very good hobbies for me since I love cars. I am new to the C5 community so that is why I ask questions on this site. I am very knowledgable about the Fox body and SN95 stang, and on the Stang websites people ask me for advice, but when they disagree I dont bite their head off. I simply state what I know and leave it at that.

I am terribly sorry that many of you are offended and so easily stirred by my comments about something as simple as a thermostat. I also really am disturbed at how quickly you can label someone as a street racer or a seemingly bad person because they disagree with you. I like to go fast, that is why I became a pilot twenty years ago. And yes I could be called a street racer I guess. If someone pulls up to race at a stop light out on the rural roads where I live, im gonna race them if there are no other cars around. That is just what "I" like to do. It's not right and if I get pulled over I will pay the fine with a smile on my face because I deserved it.

To each his own. I still love you ET because you seem very knowledgeable about our beloved C5's, and I hope you continue to post.
We all need people who can help us, that is why we get on this site.

I'm the same way. Don't challenge me on the road because the race will be on. Just can't help it.

ET is a good guy and very informative. I've learned from him. He doesn''t have to prove what he says to me because of his background.

Now where the he-l is that sleeping quarters?

Bob
