(LIVE AND LEARN) Can anyone tell me if there is a way to turn off the "Service Vehicle Soon" indicater without taking the car to a dealer. I just had the car completely serviced by a real good machanic but he was unable to reset the warning. I know, I know, how good can he be???
The work he did was not highly technical, just lube and oil and check all.
Please let me know, Thanx Mike
I hope your joking. When I hit reset it converts back to the display it was on before the warning. But it comes back often. I need to clear it so the car thinks its been serviced!
During your tune up the mechanic must have dome something to cause the system to throw a code. You might need to go in and review all the codes and then clear them.
I had the same problem today when I was changing belts. I cleared the codes and the problem was gone. (Then again I also put the belts back on which is what caused the code)

Check the DTC codes in the DIC memory. One of the codes is causing the light to come on. If you post the codes here on the forum, we can tell you what you need to do to fix what ever is wrong that is causing the light to come on.
If there are a ton of codes in memory, write them down and reset all of them. If the light comes back on, post the code here so we can help you resolve the problem.
