c5 cuts out under load

Hello all
Question for ya
My 97 six speed starts and runs great but when accelerating it cuts out. I'm going to change the fuel filter. Has anyone had a similar experience or do you have any other ideas.

My Camaro would run fine under moderate load, but when I asked for near redline performance, it would hesitate and sometimes backfire. It was an ignition system problem. New wires, sparkplugs, and new coil, and it was running great, again.
