Dayum I just drove the car home with this clutch and I like it already.

Pedal pressure is WAAAAAAAAY softer than my RAM. I am still getting used to how soft it is. Engagement is pretty quick. I was told it would get a lil longer once the clutch wears in. Absolutely no chatter. I stopped in a parking lot and did about 30 stop and go's without any issues.

As far as driveability goes, this thing is awesome.

Hopefully, I will have it broken in and everything together to take it to the track this weekend. That will be the real test.

Man that sounds promising! Thanks for the update. Now I'm really looking forward to those track tests!

Kumar....

One of the things I LOVE about the Exedy is the "light and quick" shift feel due to its very positive dis-engagement, lighter weight and lower inertia with only 7.5" clutch discs. How does the new clutch shift compared to the Exedy....I think it would be impossible for a larger diameter single disc to give you the feel of the Exedy in that respect. I'm thinking the Exedy is a much better road race and street clutch, but not ideal AT ALL in a drag race environment where it hits too hard and can't be slipped out of the hole.

Thanks for your input...
Tony

Tony, my initial thought on this clutch was "damn it grabs quick." It engages pretty low off the floor and there is very little travel before it disengages.

My gas foot is still catching upto how quickly the clutch grabs and you are ready to go.

Once I get it broken in, I'll prolly let some other local members drive it to get their impressions.

Going to the track this weekend to see how it handles powershifting. I am gonna be running at an 1/8 mile track having to shift 3 times. That should tell me how it will do.

kumar - are you not coming out to Hallsville? If not, what track and what day? I'd like to meet up with you.

By the way, Vette Magazine will be at Hallsville covering the event!

Dude, I dunno if I will have it broken in for Hallsville because I am going out to San Antonio tommorrow with some friends. + I dont want to make the trip to Hallsville if my bottle isnt ready to go.

I will be at K-dale on Sunday afternoon hopefully to race but at least to watch. You are welcome to test drive the car there if you would like.

Well unfortunately my new motor has been experiencing a lil low oil pressure. We put in a new ported/shimmed oil pump and the oil pressure was still low.

Decided to take the motor out and send it to the builder to have it looked at since its only got 1500 easy miles on it.

Might be a while before I post any results.

One thing I did notice: after putting 200 stop and go miles on the clutch, it became even easier to drive.

When I first got it, it grabbed pretty instantly and quickly off the ground. After driving it for 2 days, it felt almost like stock in that you could slip it real easy.
