That's small for some. There's a few C5, and more than a few F-body guys with 4,000 stalls in thier daily drivers.

I would not go higher than a 2500-2800 stall TQ Conv. for good overall drivability and mileage. However, I would add the 3.42 gears at the same time and save labor costs if you want to add to the improved performance with the new convertor. If you add the 3.42's you need to reprogram shift points etc. in the PCM. Good luck, it will wake up your car.

If you are going to stay with 3.15 gears I would go with the Yank SS3200. If you're going to get serious about drag racing I would go with the SS3600 or the SS4000 and 3.73 gears. Once your car locks up in OD a high stall T/C is just like the stock T/C and will not effect your mileage on the highway.

I have 3:15 gears. I have a brand new SS3200 - 2.3 stall sitting on the floor waiting to be installed. Per conversation with Mike at Yank the SS3200 is perfect for my gears. If you go with the SS3200 make sure you get the STR-2.3 to tighten the looseness. Good luck.

You want the Yank SS3200 - Don't make the mistake of going with anything else....Yanks are the best...We have a group purchase going on the tech thread that ends tomorrow....
