Cams and MPG Question
I'm installing LT headers and I'm thinking of adding a cam/springs to my M6 vert but I'm curious about the effect on MPG. I know there's no free lunch but I'm wondering what effect a street cam will have on MPG. I don;t mind a little less but I don't want to reduce outstanding MPG by 1/3.

Depends on how wild you get. Lot's of duration, smaller LSA will kill mileage.
My stage II heads/baby cam (218/218, 114 LSA)/LT's gets BETTER mileage than it did stock. And (flame suit on now
) runs quicker at the track than the local magnuson supercharged boys and girls.

I have kooks LT's and a 228/238 .581/.591 on a 112 lsa. HWY I am getting the same as before. I average per my computer around 27 mpg before and after the cam swap. But on city streets it is way down. So I would say for long hauls it is fine but around town expect a large drop.
