SDM no comm after HUD install
I just put HUD in my 98 convertible and now im getting 58 SDM no comm error
there isnt a code next to it and when i reset it it comes right back on
Im not getting any other codes
I suspect it has something to do with moving the airbag light in the cluster
I moved it

Several Months Back after replacing my `98 with a 2002 cluster for the HUD upgrade, I also noticed the same 058-SDM NO COMM Fault when in diagnostic mode. I took a survey and found 90% of the HUD upgrades also reported the same issue. I believe its an incompatability with the older SDM Module. In other words, the circuitry in the new cluster is looking for another signal that its not getting from the older SDM.
I was in contact with another member who works at Delphi who supplies the Clusters to GM and was investigating this fault code with the engineers, this members name is "drosenth". I`ve not heard back from him...I think I`ll re-kindle the contact.
Other than being a nuscience, it has no ill effect at all on the vehicle.

cause its not throwing any codes or anything like that
ii just dont wanna get in a horrible wreck and have the airbags not go off orsome crap like that
