TEXHAWKO,

According to my repair invoice, the part # this time was 88952427. I think that was the first generation?? The one that was bad was the 89023816.

Maybe your dealer was lucky enough to find an original relay still in inventory somewhere. I doubt that GM went back to the original part number.

gm parts.com only shows 89023816 k harness.it is only $65.00.

all I have to do is plug it in as a bypass? I have a z16 that I have not had the recall done on. I really did not what the dealer playing around with my bcm.

If you are talking about gmpartsdirect.com, both part numbers are still listed for $65, but I think if you order the original number, you will still get the superceded number.

As far as installation, the kit comes with the wiring harness and a replacement for the lock plate. You need to install both for the kit to work as intended. If you just install the harness K, the column will still lock, but the relay in the harness will keep the BCM from shutting off the fuel if the actuator fails. You can connect the harness to the main wiring harness, and leave the actuator connector unplugged, but you have to make sure the actuator is in the unlocked position first.
I suggest you read all the details in the sticky posted at the top of this forum for all the options.
