Default Need Major Help!!

Well a while ago my windows stopped working in my 99 FRC and I just got around to taking the car to the dealer to have it checked out(@ $100 hour diagnostic fee). I had previously checked the voltage to the door control modules and everything is getting power, and they agreed with me. The problem I have is there is NO COMMUNICATION WITH ANY CONTROL MODULES except for my door control modules, yet my windows still don't work? When he has the scanner hooked up, he can work the windows through the scanner. These are the potential problems that he told me to check:

1. There might be 1 bad module bringing the rest down
2. A bad ground(he says all the modules use the same ground)

Any help here? BTW the car runs great!...??? Yet nothing seems to be communicating with the ECU? HELP!!

Did you check the DIC codes yet?

Seams wierd that "nothing" is communicating.

There was a post on the forum for cleaning electrical ground contacts. I will post the link if I can find it.

If the tech could operate the windows from the scanner, installing a window vallet would probably work too.

Heres the low down on your door control modules.

They are powered by 4 fuses located in the Instrument Panel Electric Center. All of the power is supplied by ORANGE wires.
Mini Fuse# 33 (DCM-L), 10 amp,
Mini Fuse# 34, (PWRFDL) 25 amp,
Mini Fuse# 30, (DCM-R) 10 amp,
Mini Fuse# 31 (PWRFDR) 25 amp

The DCM Comms wires are (LDCM= BROWN) (RDCM= TAN)

The right hand DCM is grounded on Chasis ground G-202. There is a splice pack under the dash (SP-202) that ties a lot of the interior together and then sends the ground to G-202

The left hand DCM is grounded on Chasis ground G-203. There is a splice pack under the dash (SP-203) that ties a lot of the interior together and then sends the ground to G-203.
The ground connectors are on the inside of the door sills, You will have to remove the door sill covers. They willl be inside a small well just below the lower door hinge on the inside of the door sill.

Most of the time the DCM wiring harness plugs/connectors fail. The plygs/connectors will be inside the accrodian tubes that connect the doors to the body. Check EACH wire and each pin for being pushed or loose. Wiggle the wires and try to move the windows. Look for burnt damaged pins. Some times the wires fall right out of the connectors!

THIS IS A SPLICE PACK-

THIS IS WHAT A GROUND CONNECTOR WILL LOOK LIKE-

HERE IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE DISASSEMBLED FOR CLEANING AND INSPECTION-

I will be out of town the rest of the week. I will check back in on Sunday. I will be at the C5/C6 Birthday Bash in Bowling Green KY.
