Haltech Stinger install
Everything was perfect out of the box and the instructions were good. Total time took about 1 hour 20 minutes because I cleaned all the newly exposed plastic and did a lot of test fitting so the hood would close completely. This install could be done in less than 30 minutes if you just fly through it.
Fit was good for my kit and it does not push up the hood like some have posted, but this came after some adjustments. First, get all fitments to go together as tight as possible and flush as possible. Second, make sure that your MAF is not pushing down on the plastic that is under it. If the MAF is turned to much counter clockwise, looking at it from the engine not the front, the square piece that is under the MAF plug will push the entire assembly up, this happened in my case. Turn the MAF until that is no longer making contact. in my case this was about a half inch and the whole unit, air bridge and all, will drop down a bit. Lastly, adjust the assembly front to back as needed by loosening the coupler and adjusting. Great fit in my case, hopes this helps.
Well, to driving impressions, I have none.
We are expecting snow in NE Ohio and it has rained all day today.
I will say this, the unit sounds nice, can hear the air just getting sucked in.
Also, seemed to rev smoother but that could be a reach I’m not sure.
Overall very happy with this mod and I will post a driving impression when I can.

I can convert it either way (top or bottom intake) in a few minutes.
I'm impressed with the high quality materials of the Halltech unit.

Some forum members stopped by to help me with my first mod - Borla Stingers. I bought some 6 X 6 lumbar, cut it into foot-long sections and stacked them under the floor jack. We had to lift the rear end about 31 inches and ever-so-gingerly, removed the last section of over-the-axle OEM pipe on the right side. Once this part was accomplished, we lowered the rear onto jack stands and assembled the much-lighter Borlas. We did have to disconnect the sway bar from the right side, only because the wood blocks were preventing the pipe from swinging up out of the way.
So yes, it is possible to do this mod without a lift; it's just that it IS a little bit scary when the wood is piled up on the floor jack cradle.
