After replacing the car's battery, the keyless entry system doesn't work. Does anyone know if there is a code that has to be re-entered or what? 1999 C5
There are TWO procedures. One is "RE-Sync" and the other is "RE-Train"
Sometimes the Body Control Module gets it FOB security code sequence out of whack. If you press and hold the "LOCK & UN-LOCK" buttons on the FOB at the same time and hold them until the horn in the car beeps once, that is re-sync. That normaly is all that is needed to get you back on track.
On the other hand, if you change fob batteries or sometimes have the car battery out for a long time, you will have to Re-Learn your FOB's. You can train up to "THREE" FOB's for the same car.
The re-training procedure is in your owners manual. If you can not locate it, let me know and I will type it out.

If re sync doesnt work, try the RE Training procedure.
I've been having issues with my keyless lately too, i think it's a bad fob. Regardless, to retrain:
turn on ignition (don't need to start though)
clear any DIC messages
hit Options and cycle through them until DIC is clear again
hold down Reset until it says FOB Training
hit Reset again to train 1st FOB
It'll ask you to hold down lock+unlock and then will tell you when it's retrained. I think hitting Fuel will get you back out (or removing key).
This also gets you into the Tire Pressure Training.
