The Viper and C5 are both in a totally different class then the Mustang.
in all seriousness; with that list you have... the Mustang doesn't belong on it. If you can't see that yourself, no one here can help you out.
I too have never seen a stock Z06 run 11's. I have seen video on the Internet, but that is not seeing one do it in person. I have seen many Z's run at the track and the majority of them are around 13.0, fastest one I have seen was a 12.6. Ok bolt on C5 coupe 11 second machine I will put my list of mods as follows. This is for the A4. vararam
long tube headers
high flow cats
magnaflow mangnapack catback
dyno tune
3600 stall
373 rear end
hardened output shaft
BFG DRs
Also you are talking about a 427 for the C5 coupe, remember that engine with installation will cost as much as the used C5 does.

Yep I think he would be in the 11's for good.
It sounds like you want a car to go drag racing with. The C5 is not meant to be a drag car. IMO, if all you want to do is go fast in a straight line at the dragstrip, your best bet would be to go for the Mustang, or maybe a Camaro or Firebird. Those cars are more straight line cars, where the C5 is more of a car for all aspects of performance, including corners. To me the C5 is a drivers car. I'm not saying you can't drag race a C5, I'm just saying you'd probably get more bang for your buck drag racing with the Cobra.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the trail of broken parts strewn behind a C5 at a dragstrip would cost more than a trail of broken Cobra parts.
I bought my Z06 because I wanted a fun car that could carve a corner too. To me that's what the C5 is about. My Z06 will probably never see a drag strip. I'm not knocking the guys that take their C5s to the dragstrip, I'm just saying I won't be doing it with mine and I think (bang for the buck) there are other cars better suited for it than a C5.
Maybe it's just the fact that I think the C5 is a beautiful car and I wouldn't be able to force myself to hammer the hell out of one at a dragstrip. I dunno.
The same with a Viper. I think it would be a waste to buy a Viper just to take to the dragstrip.

It's coming. Just be patient.
I have real problems and question regarding a car that I REALLY have, and it takes a week to get 2 responses, but just yell out "respond to my post" and they come running?
Consider yourself flamed. Buy whatcha' want. I don't believe your buyin' anything though...

Wow, I'm sorry that I have questions about an expensive car before I just go out and spend about $40,000 on one. Excuse me for researching something with experienced people before I make a decesion!

define "stock"???
I've never seen a stock Z06 ever get below 12.2 in the quarter... and the 12.2 was with a redline launch by a seemed-to-be skilled driver.
They either need tuning, and/or headers, and/or cam, and/or cold air intake, and/or drag radials to get into the elevens.
If you start with a six speed car you will need a new clutch, 410 gears, and a hardened output shaft in the rear diff. You will need to get at least 450RWHP out of the heads and cam package, which isn’t hard to do. Figure roughly $10K to get the car to this point if you pay a good tuner to do it. Much less if you do the work yourself. With ET Streets this setup is capable of high tens in the ¼ in the mid to upper 120’s mph if you are not afraid to abuse the car.
SLP in my opinion is not the way to go. 427 flywheel horsepower will not get you where you want to be. I would guess that a C5 coupe with 427 hp would run low 12’s- high 11’s consistently.
You should be able to find a nice low mile C5 and upgrade it for around $30k total.
