Default Z06 cam's

Which Z06 cam made the best power in the 346? I keep getting told different ones from F-body guys. Anyone know the part number for the cam that made the best power? All I know is that one of the C-5's had a better cam and I want it!

I would not say they are really better, just a bit bigger by .025 on the lift.

You want an 2002 and up LS6 cam, period.

.550 lift.. The highest lift on a Y-body LS1 cam was .500, in 2000.

You'll see about 20~25 HP from swapping a stock LS1 cam to a 2002+ LS6 cam.

if you are going to do a cam swap why not put something in there worth while if you are going for stock manners you can pick up an MTI stealth cam "Stealth II 224 220 .581 .581 116" , or if you want a 400rwhp cam only car pick up a Futral Motorsports-FM1-F13-114 - 230"/232" .595"/.585" 114, i would not waste my time with the Z06 cam.

Right, that's what happened in my case; thought I wanted a Z06 cam, (you can find them used for 100-125 bucks), then everyone came out of the woodwork with the "waste of time" comments..

So I found a slightly used LPE GT2-3 cam.. Haven't installed it yet, but I hope it's worth the 100 dollar difference.

If you're looking for a good deal on a slightly used cam (7000 miles) that is a little larger than the Z06 cam, which will give you significant horsepower and torque gains, and idles like stock, then you may want to buy my cam: Comp Cam 220/220 .564/.564 114 that I'm selling for $200 (plus shipping) next week once Chris at ECS removes it. I have a new 2002-4 LS6 cam and new LS6 springs, if that's what you want. I'll be putting them in the Parts For Sale Section, but I 'll give you first shot at them. I'd like to sell them as a set.
Send me a PM if your interested or not.

Already have 918 springs. I want the Z06 cam and that is it. I do not want anything larger. I love the way the setup is now except I want a sleeper and Z06 is the way I want to go.
