Default Stingers question

I am kind of passed the "loud exhaust" stage of my life, but I do want an after market exhaust for my 2000 coupe. I am looking for a low V8 rumble sound with moderate loudness on acceleration and a quiet cruise. Are stingers for me? If not any recommendations?

The Borlas will probably be a little too loud for you if you mate them to long tube headers. You might want to look into the Z06 Ti's or the GHL's.

I have both Stingers on my 01 vert and Corsa Pace Cars on my wife's '00 coupe. I like louder so I like the Stingers. From your own description I think you want the Corsa's.

I agree with GHL's. The GHL magnums in particular. They are good balance between the Z TI's and the Stingers around town. WOT is a hoot. I literally scared some ricer with fart cans passanger to the point that she ducked!

The best way to decide right is to hear them for yourself.
No sound clip from the web, or good description will take the place of hearing them in person and on a demo ride if possible.

I'm always happy to let a Forum brother check out any of my mods.

I'm looking forward to hooking up my Stingers to my new LGM headers, which are being installed this next Saturday.

We had Kook's long tube headers installed recently. Had installed the Borla Stingers a few years ago and they were awesome---at least 50% more awesome now with the headers, just cannot get enough of the great sound.

Based on what you are saying the stingers may be a little much for you. the only way to know is to hear them yourself the sound clips do not do any system justice.

I've got 2 tip stingers with a Corsa x-pipe. Sure, there loud under heavy acceleration, but I hardly notice them while I'm cruising. Quality exaust at a great price.....go with the Stingers!

I have Quad Oval Stingers and those puppies are LOUD! Probably not the best choice for you.

Stingers are not overly loud by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, most people who hear them, say they are "perfect". You won't find a better idle sound (deep, low rumble) and the WOT sound is intoxicating. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

If you still have the stock manifolds and catalytic converters then you'll probably be very comfortable with the Stingers' exhaust note. If you're running LT headers, high-flow cats (or no cats) then the exhaust note is....well.....

This is all subjective so take the comments with a grain of salt. I had stingers for over a year with LT headers and at first I loved it but at cruise they were too loud in the car, plus resonance. Finally, I had to get rid of them.

I don't know how loud they really are with stock exhaust to comment on that but I sold them to get the GHLs and have never been happier.

I have the quad tip stinger cat-back on my 98, and it is a bit loud. Esp if you are past the "loud car stage". They can be quiet for cruising and under, but I find mine to drone too much at partial throttle. But in 21 and dont mind noise yet.................
