OK, before I pull the trigger on this let's see if I've got it right. The 04 vert has one tube that comes off the throttle body and runs to the right valve cover - that one is a breather and we don't mess with it. Another tube makes a loop from an outlet in the front of the intake manifold to an outlet about 4" below it in what looks like the front of the valley cover - that's where we insert the catch can. We run a tube from the valley outlet to the top fitting on the catch can and another tube from the manifold outlet to the bottom fitting on the catch can. Right??
All words of experience and wisdom appreciated.

You splice into the same line as the PCV valve.
Insert the one end prior to the PCV into the top of the catch can (inlet), and the outlet (bottom) line routes into the PCV. From the PCV onward it stays the same as factory.
Works well for catching excess oil as well as vapor condensation.
That is the Z06 PCV setup which, incidentally, I switched my '02 LS1 over to and then added a catch can. The hookup is similar on either setup. The LS1 PCV system looks like this. The PCV valve is highlighted.
Here's a pic of my LS6 valley cover. Note the PCV tube on the front of the passenger side of the cover with the red cap still on it.
I installed my catch can in the right-front of the engine bay on the inside of the frame. You can see the two black hoses in the pic below leading to it.
A shot inside my intake before the catch can.
I get about this much oil from it every 800-1K miles.
Just had my TB off the other day and it looks like yours. I am going to get the AMW as well, just curious if you have peeked inside since the addition of the catch can.
I've had it off since this and very little oil has collected inside since I cleaned it when I first installed the catch can. Most of the oil seems to be coalescing in the catch can.
Patches,
Thanks, I read my service manual and all it had was the same picture as your diagram. My 04 LS1 engine has the LS6 manifold and valley cover and I didn't tumble to the difference. Your colored pictures are exactly what I have and now I'm off to get my catch can. Thanks again.

I have a Fast intake and LG throttlebody, the valley cover tube is in series with an oil separator, PVC valve and vacuum line. Each valve cover tube vents to the atmosphere thru a fuel filter to keep out dirt. This is a '98 with the newer valley cover and valve covers. Does it make any difference which tube (two valve cover, one valley cover) goes to the PVC/ vacuum?

I put the catch can mod on my 04 and haven't captured a single drop (the lines are dry too). Don't know why.

I didn't catch anything for about 500 miles, for some reason, when I installed my catch can. I just checked it again last night, and saw about as much oil as what Patches has in his pics. It has been about 1500 miles since install, and there is about an ounce of oil in it now.
