Default CD Deck Replacement, with factory CD Changer?

Hi guys,

I've finally grown tired of having the same CD Deck as Astrovans and the like, and would like to replace the CD Deck in my 1998 Convertible. However, I do have the 12 disc CD changer, and would like to retain its functionality.

Everywhere I've gone, I've been told that it won't work, and is impossible to do...I'm not buying that. One specialty shop told me that Sony decks would work with a Delco CD changer (unfortunately, this specialty shop does not carry Sony, and told me to go to Best Buy. The employees there were absolutely useless.)

Does anyone know of any brands or models in particular that will work with the factory Delco disc stacker? I've had good experiences with both Alpine and Pioneer in the past, but cannot find any literature on whether or not they will work with my car.

There first people you talked to were correct. Changer goes with the factory radio.

So no adapter out there exists or anything to make it work with an aftermarket deck?

never heard of anything that would work. you'd be better off selling your cd changer and buying one that matched the h/u. you'll probably make money off the deal and you wont need to buy any expensive adapters

If you remove your factory HU, you'll also lose your Bose Signal Processor (subs in doors) unless you buy an adapter. If you want a change, go all the way, or not at all.
