My 2000 has 41K on it and the rear end went south. It's in the shop getting a new one (under warranty

UPDATE.......

Well, DSP (GM Extended Warranty) is going to put a BRAND NEW 3.42 Rear Differential (Z06) in my car FREE of charge!!!! We are always giving these guys hell, but this is not a bad deal!!! And all I did was ASK if I could get a NEW unit and possibly 3.42 and they said "SURE THING"

Jamey, you'll need to have your shift points re-programmed as you'll be hitting the rev limiter easier with the 3.42's. Hopefully you know someone with EFI Live, HP Tuner or LS1 Edit that can help you out. Otherwise, look for a trusted tuner in your area.

NO more whine, but now have bad vibration around 3000-4000 RPM's so going back in the shop Monday......whine was DEFINITELY from Rear Differential!

Let me give you one more item to check-pumps in many transmissions will give a siren sound if pump gears are bad or trans filter is clogged.This was a major problem with the old GM TH 400's.
