Default Modded z06: Check engine light & PCM Code p0106

I recently picked up an 02 z06, car has extensive mods: headers, cams, heads, exhaust, intake. Besides running out of gas (thanks to the faulty gas gauge), the car recently started running rough and the check engine light has come on.

Code appears to be MAP Sensor Performance issue. (p0106)

Has anyone had issues after header install?
I think the check engine light came on due the rdg the 02 sensor were getting, just a thought.

Would 02 simulators/MIL sims take care of the issue?

I tried resetting the codes and disconnecting the battery but the idle is still all over the place. Driving the car didnt help, and there seems to be load on the engine when driving

Please help!!

thanks,
Jim

Check for vacuum leaks such as a hose that has come off and if everything is good then replace the MAP sensor since it's what is giving you the code.

Default MAP sensor location 02 z06

Thanks, I added another post. Is it possible to get a diagram of the MAP sensor?

Is it in the back of the Intake manifold in the center underneath?

Any help would be appreciated

thanks,
Jim

To find the MAP sensor, follow the vacuum line from the brake booster to behind the intake manifold where it terminates at the MAP sensor housing. The MAP sensor is on top of the housing and connects to a wiring harness. The MAP sensor is removed by disconnecting it from the wiring harness and twisting the MAP sensor forward to release it from it's retainer.

With small hands, you may be able to do this without removing the intake manifold.

Sorry, no scanner.
