I am looking to replace my stock C5 shifter soon. I drove a 99FRC
with the B&M ripper last week, and it was nice, but a little stiff.
The short throw was great.
I am also considering the C6 shifter setup, but I don't think I will
have an opportunity to test one. Is there a BIG difference between the C5 and C6 shifter, or is it subtle.
Check out the review I did below. The actual driving review is a bit further down in the thread so you'll want to read further than my first post. There is also a bit more info about the install. Also, do a search for a few more reviews in C5 General done by other members.
I was wondering this exact same question this morning. I tried a search and didn't find your article Patches. I must say this is very impressive work! Thanks so much for the great job.
I love mine and I had tried the Hurst before in my car and didn't like it at all. If you are not in a hurry, maybe you could either go to a dealer and try the C6 in a C6 or if you are going to some major Vette event like Carlisle make arrangements with someone on the forum to try theirs in the field.
I hope to get to try one soon. I assume there is not a big difference between the feel of the Hurst and the B&M, and after driving the B&M quite a bit, I think i would be happy with something in between that and stock.
