Today i took the vette for a drive and the wipers started going on/off randomly. Then after 15 minutes they would not stop! I looked like an idiot driving home lol
So I checked the windshield cowl drains and they are clean now (one had wet mud in it). There is no water held up in at the wipers. I hope its not a circuit board/motor. I pulled out the fuse for now. Any advice? And if the motor/board is wet, how long for it to dry off?
thanks in adv

Sounds like it could be the multi function switch.
I can't remember exactly, but it does sound like a similar problem someone else was having on this forum; but that was quite a while ago.
Maybe someone else can chime in.
If you let it dry out for a day or two and that does not fix it, I would be willing to guess that the control circuit is bad. There are three relay on the board and one or more are probably corroded shut and cant deenergize.
I have been down this route before and 90% of the time it is NOT the mulitfunction switch! I thought the same thing when my 98 had this problem. Lucky for me I had a doner 02 Z06 that I could swap stalks with. The new stalk DID NOT fix the problem. My control board was submerged in nasty water. I took mine apart and sprayed the board down with brake parts cleaner and then with WD-40. That worked like a champ!
Also check the washer button on the end of the stalk. if it is not properly seated, the washer pump and wipers will run continuosly. The dealer replaced the windshield wiper/washer stalk on my 02 vert after the washer button popped out.

I'd suggest that the board still maybe dirty, getting wet and or shorting out. Did you use a hose to clean the drain udders? Air gun too. Mine were so bad I had to clean them twice with a pressure washer and air gun. Then after about a week of drying under the cover. I drove around and haven't seen the problem since for a little over a month now (800 miles). Good luck.

No i didnt wash it out to drain the udders. I could feel that it was pretty clear though when i got my fingers in there (feel weird writing this haha). I didnt pour more water in there b/c i thought it needed to dry off so why get it wet, right?
Sorry, im probably the only person on this forum who doesnt know wat a stalk is. Is it the wiper arm that holds the rubber blade? A pic would help. thanks in adv.
