post-steering column bypass problems?
brought my 99 manual into the dealer to get some chrome rims mounted, and while they had it they did the column recall. took it out the next day, had all sorts of electrical snafus. everything going haywire, lighting up, blinking, windows wouldn't work, remote wouldn't work, radio wouldn't work, all dials zeroed out. anybody think the two are related? thanks for any info

Errr.. Unless you've already saved your bin before the recall, you may be SOL.

well, my mystery appears to be over. the electrical snafus were apparently not related to the recall. mechanic noticed the passenger floor was wet, the drain was clogged with crap, and the bcm was soaked with water, which explained the electronics going haywire. ouch $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
