i checked the codes at the site.a couple of battery circuit codes, like battery circuit #1,battery circuit #2.then there was a wheel sensor circuit, but that couldv'e been because i just put in new speed sensors a month ago.the one that has me puzzeled and a little concerned is the p0430-catalyst system low efficiency???what does that mean.i have a kooks sytem w/brand new hi-flow cats.what's up?also,u1160h-1064h-comm.malfunction,and lost communication.
The U 1000 series codes indicate that some of the modules have expierenced a loss of communications or low battery voltage. If a micro processor sees less than 9 volts DC it will cut off until the voltage fall in the normal range.
If you clear the codes and keep getting U series codes, your battery could be going bad. If you ever leave the hood light on or stereo on for 30 min or so and then the car has a difficult time starting, that indicates a bad battery with little reserve capacity.
I check my codes at least once or twice a week just to make sure everything is fine. Some codes will NOT cause the Check Eng light to come on.
My ck engine light keeps popping back up after resetting it. The codes are (P1111) IAT Sen Cir Intermittent High Voltage and (P0113) IAT Sen Cir High Voltage...Do I need a new sensor? If so does anyone know how much it cost and whats the difficulty of replacing it.
Both codes center around the IAT sensor. The other two choices are replace the PCM and replace the wiring harness. I KNOW that the last two are NOT what you want to do. ON early C5 the IAT is situated in the Air Bridge. Later C5 (I'm guessing year change over) 2001 and above, are incorporated in the MASS Air Flow Sensor.
Check the wiring, the sensor connector and sensor it self. The device changes resistance with temp changes. See if it changes if you put it in the freezer and let it thaw out under a heat lamp. You should see a linier swing in resistance readings. You can also read back to the PCM. Read between the pins in the connector and you should see 0-5 ohms.
Do you think I should just change the IAT sensor? Its only $10 and installs in seconds. I think I will just buy one tomorrow morning and try it just for fun...
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
