Check engine lite came on,some body else already posted a thread because theirs came on too.then, the guys told me how to go ck.codes and sent me to the link to decipher the codes, etc.this sh$#@t is pretty cool!this car is pretty cool, too!even though it's a tempermental beast! So,not only do i have a very fast car,i can also diagnose it;s codes!!!outstanding!!! now,if somebody can tell me why i have p0430-catalyst system low efficiency-codes when i just put in kooks w/new cats about a month and a half ago???
That's an easy one, bud! You say you added LT's and (I'll assume) aftermarket cats, and wonder why the rear 02 sensors "think something is wrong"?
Basically the function of the rear 02 sensor is to monitor how the exhaust gas is being scrubbed by the cat. converter.
So you have a few variables here; your motor needs a tune (possibly too rich AFR), or those cats aren't working well enough to satisfy the current PCM parameters, or the rear 02 sensor is defective.
Are you getting this code on both banks (usually the last digit of the code will be different, so if you only have a single code you could assume just one side is complaining.)
I've also seen examples of these aftermarket cats failing internally, i.e. the honeycomb falls apart, and that would allow the gas to pass through unfiltered.
i'll have to ck.when i get home if it's one or two codes for the cat's,but it's going to ecs for a cam and a tune,so might that be a fix or correction for the sensor stuff??

Aske them to turn off your two rear o2 sensors. No more codes.
That's another (little more expensive) option. If the clean-air ***** are as **** as you say they are and crawl up underneath and see the sims, well.... your screwed again. Chances are they won't do a "visual" from underneath like they do in the engine compartment area.
