HAL QA1 Shocks!
Does HAL make a double adjustable front shock for the C5, is it a direct bolt-in, and, if so, what would a full set of shocks cost comprised of a pair of double adjustables for the front and a pair of the single adjustables for the rear?
Thanks!
Last time I checked QA1 didn't have a C5 front or rear shock with the twin **** double adjustable, plus if you lower your car and use stock length C5 front shocks, they will be too long and will have a tendancy to bottom out. Same goes for the rear of dramatically lowered cars.
We have been using our Coil over mounting brackets and QA1's new double adjustable shocks and have found that they work well. Still trying to determine the correct length for the hard core autocrossers that are running unusually low ride heights.
On the side:
For you drag racers, I've got some food for thought.
If you have not realigned the rear of your car for drag racing, you are giving up alot on your 60 foot times, especially if you have lowered the car. For Drag Racing you want your rear static camber setting to be between Zero and +.125. As the rear of the car squats durring launch (or if you have lowered the car) you gain a fair amount of negitive camber. This sets your wide rear tires on their inside edge, dramatically reducing your contact patch and traction. Try running Zero to .125 Toe out back there too, as a hard launch tries to get the rear tires to toe in under power. These adjustments have offered a few tenths to our big HP/TQ drag racing customers.

P.S.- My car isn't lowered.

One more question, you said that your car is not lowered, but do you autocross, do track days or road race? If so that front shock is too long and will bottom out. There is another length shock that we use for these situations, the cost is the same, it is an inch shorter, works fine for stock ride height as well as these other conditions that I listed. For the hard core autocrosser (whom really jumps on the brakes while entering a corner and has the car lowered, we need to go to a two inch shorter shock as even the one inch shock will bottom out. When the front shock bottoms out going into the turn, the car pushes like a dump truck, and if the rear bottoms while exiting the corner, the car wants to swap ends (hence the band-aid fix of running toe-in on the rear of the car for the latter).

I'm strictly a drag racer which is why I'd like the double adjustables for the front so I can soften the rebound and stiffen the compression keeping the nose up as long as possible.

The Twin **** front with the single **** rears are $1259.88 plus shipping & tax. This lenght shock would probably be the best for Drag Racing with a stock ride height car.
We have some other QA1 shocks that would work better for lowered cars, but that isn't the case for you.

Steve
I can go for $20 shipping anywhere in the continental US. So we are talking $1279.88. We accept Visa and Mastercard provided that the product ships to the billing address of the credit card. I checked with my westcoast warehouse and they have the rears and will take about 7-10 working days to get the fronts from the time I place an order. They did say that I was the first to ask for this shock out west so if it (the twin **** C5 front shock) becomes a more popular part number, that they will begin to keep them in stock.
If you are interested, please cll the store, as we haven't got a shopping cart on our web site yet.
You probably have no idea what that involves.
, but we are heading in that direction.

I just rec'd an email from my QA1 warehouse supplier and it informed me that while QA1 has a part number and design for that shock, it has yet to be produced and they couldn't confirm a build date, so I will keep you posted and not charge your credit card until they are ready to ship.

So thank you STEVE
I'll look into building them from other part numbers that are available in similar length and the same valve stack.
