Default A4 Service Question

What is the procedure for checking, draining and/or adding fluid to the A4 transmission? Went looking under the unit but could not see anything that looked like a drain plug or fill tube.

Thanks.

No trans dip stick. You don't check it, fill it or drain it, except if you have a problem or it is time to service the trans. Then I guess you take it to a dealer or a good shop.

The procedure for checking the transmission fluid level in your car with an automatic transmission is:

1. raise the car so that it's level and you can slide under it to gain access to the transmission.

2. start the car and run it until the transmission temperature is between 86 and 125 degrees.

3. once up to operating temperature select each gear from park thru low 1 and back to park pausing for a second in each detent.

4. now with the engine still running at idle crawl under the car and remove the plug on the left side of the pan, the fluid should be level with the bottom of that plug I.E. when you pull the plug if you don't get any fluid out pump a little in until it starts to overflow then when it stops overflowing install the plug.

5. shut the engine off and lower the car.
