You will only be able to drain and fill 3,75 QTs. If you are going to change it, I recommend stepping up to Mobil ! Synthetic ATF!! Wow what a difference it made in my 98 Coupr and 02 Z06!!
mine took less than 4qts. also I used a carpenters level on top of the roof when I had the car on flat concrete (gas station). Then I knew when the car was level on the jack stands.
you may want to remove the fill plug first, you would hate to drain all the fluid only to find out you can not get the fill plug off.
how do you plan on getting the new fluid back in?
I like Red Line myself.. Either way, go synthetic.
Hey Carl. When my Vette was at Northstar to fix a leaky tranny seal, they recommended Redline synthetic as replacement fluid for both tranny and rearend.
Thanks for all the input. I purchased 5 quarts of Redline Synthetic equivalent of Dextron 3. I hope this is ok for a fill. The tranny was a rebuilt Mn12 so it's completely dry inside.
