underdrive pulley
What type of HP gain can I expect from installing an aftermaket underdrive pulley? What are the drawbacks if any?? And how difficult to install?

It would be a real PITA unless your doing a cam install. In fact, if you put in the UD pulley, you might just as well put a different cam in. The HP gain is in the neighborhood of about 8-10 from what I've heard. But, it's always done while doing a cam upgrade.

IMO the few HP one gets from underdrives is not worth the hassle unless you are doing a cam or whatever. When I had my cam installed the tuner advised me not to waste my $$.

One of the best reasons to do a HQ replacement pulley is insurance against the dreaded "stock pulley wobble / separation / destroying the front half of your motor".
Let's face it, the stock component is marginal. It was the impetus for my cam upgrade, and that's reason enough!
