Anyone else have a problem with this? Just one on the passenger side 2nd from the firewall. Installed them yesterday, went for a short drive and looked under the hood and noticed it touching. I pulled it off and it's burnt through the heavy boot part and cracked. 30 minute drive
I don't know about on the Vettes, but on my old Chevelle the way the headers were it was impossible for me to not have some of the boots right up against the headers, so I bought some of the fiberglass/foil spark plug covers from Summit and that seemed to keep them from being burnt. I think these are the ones I used http://store.summitracing.com/partde...=KeywordSearch
The good thing about the MSD wires is that you can bend them just above where they attach to the spark plug. Rotate and bend to keep them away from the exhaust.

they can be bent to keep a good distance away from the headers
I bent mine and put on the cloth boots. The guy at the parts place basically said "nothing will survive if it's actually touching the header, including the cloth boots".
yeah well I threw mine away and never had an issue until I had a clutch install and I guess when they got re-hung they were farther forward just enough so I ended up getting one from another forum member...
When I changed mine out about 3 months ago, I had the same exact boot touching the header. I started it up and could here a real bad ticking sound, come to find out it was making a spark from the boot to the header, which made absolutely no sense to me. However, just start from scratch again, and play with it until the boot doesn't touch. I had to take it off and just re-do it. I've had no problems what so ever since then. Good Luck
