I'm heading up to a trackday tomorrow and I've switched out my street brakes/tires for the track set.
However, the bleeder screw cap keeps popping off on the rear brakes. A itty-bitty amount of fluid also creeps out. Why is this? It does it on the speed-bleeders that I have and on the stock screws.
Any ideas? Thanks for any replies as I leave tomorrow afternoon for a track weekend in Reno.
seen this before the heat causes the air/fluid to expand , plus, usually the cap gets looser with heat and is easier to slip off. try cleaning out the bleeder with brake cleaner or air, then it might stay on better. Blow all residue out of the bleeder. If it still seeps, you have a problem ,, tighten the bleeder if it is loose. The factory caps stay on a lot better than the speed bleeder suppied ones. FWIW
with all of the above, but the point here is your hydraulic system is not sealed at this point; you have fluid escaping out of that bleeder when you apply the brakes. You need to fix that; either you don’t have the bleeder tight enough, or maybe you (or someone else) over-tightened it and damaged the seat.
