I'm not sure what's going on but my key remote seems to be playing possum. It plays dead until I re-program it through the DIC, then all is well for a few hours, and then BAM it's dead again. I changed out the battery on the remote TWICE already and it is still doing the same thing. Anyone know what might be going on here?
Try prying up the battery contacts (carefully) so they put more pressure on the battery. When the fob is jarred, it momentarily loses contact with the battery. Thus it is no longer in sync. This may help.
I had to replace my remote to correct that issue. even after a mere 20 minutes the remote would not work after relearning. The contacts in my remote were ok, new battery, still no go. I would suggest replacing the remote.

It sounds like your remote is worn out.
If it's 8 yrs. old and you've tried everything thats been suggested then I'd say it's time to get a new one.
Check Ebay and I would suggest you stay away from used ones.
It is definetly your keyless remote. I had the same identical problem with mine. Tried everything you did and it didn't solve the problem until I took my car in for warranty work and they had replaced the key fob. Now it works flawlessly.
