Gotta agree I absolutely felt a difference in throttle respsonse. Takes less effort on the gas pedal to go now. That much is sure.
Just put mine on two weeks ago, it rocks. Throttle response is awesome, even in the mid-upper 90s and mushy air we have had here in the mid atlantic region lately. Putting it on the dyno tomorrow. Best $160 spent yet.

However, IMHO, I really doubt if there's there's much, if any, performance difference between ported throttle bodies from reputable vendors.

I put the Shaner S2 on my car, but too many other mods to draw a conclusion about the TB separately. My throttle response is real good. Marks Shaner does nice work, keep in mind that the polished version vs the satin finish makes no more HP, so it's just a looks thing 
. My tuner didn't want me to get a TB, said he had quality problems in the past with other brands, but he thought the Shaner one looked good. Mark machines the body before porting so the taper to the blade is less acute in my opinion. If you go to his site you'll see one being machined.
I got one delivered, then sent back my core last week, so maybe you'll get my TB

I bought a used one and sent that to Mark. I also called him and he took all my information on mods as it makes a difference. For instance, a big cam will get a different porting then one with a stock cam.

Ditto - definitely work the money! Improved throttle response is definitely noticable. I'm getting it dynoed during the first week of September when I have my F13 cam installed. The S2 is for the Corvettes, while the S3 is for the F-bodies (electronic control vs. wire).

I'm also interested in purchasing a new TB. I was wondering, is there a period of time it takes the cars computer to adjust to the increased air flow, or can you feel the difference right away and are most of the TB sold ported to the same diameter?

The blade remains 78 mm - so porting doesn't increase diameter.
LPE and Shaner shouldn't cause idle problems although PCM learning will occur to compensate in airflow change.
I had an LPE and it worked very well (H&C car). Only reason I removed it was to go to a 90mm Fast intake.

throttle body and MAF
I recently purchased a 99 C5 and a couple of mods were done at that time i.e. K&N dual air intake,borla cat back.i have added ls6 intake manifold and a 160 degree thermostat. I am considering a BBK 80 TB and Granatelli MAF sensor. Am I wasting my money to get the additional HP? I am heading to Summit racing in Akron tomorrow to receive a 10% discount on special event day. My goal is to only go a little faster at a local dragstrip. I am not a serious racing guy. just for kicks! thanks out there. i am new to all this at the ripe age of 55.
